Construction Manager – Construction Inspector

Construction Manager / Inspector must have experience in conducting construction inspections to ensure conformance to design specifications and building codes, generate reports, review shop drawings and submittals, and provide the Contracting Officer’s Technical Representative (COTR) with a recommendation for approval or disapproval. Duties to include notifying the government in writing of non-compliant safety hazards and recommended corrective actions and verify completion of corrections and actions identified. Manage project design and construction efforts, including schedule, funding, and day-to-day project oversight and prepare and distribute project communication with customers, management, integrated project teams, and stakeholders. Assist the client’s Contracting Officer (CO) and COTR with acquisition planning, execution, and administration, assist the CO and COTR with conducting pre-bid and pre-construction site visits with the COTR, and provide invoice supporting information to the COTR for payment. Monitor project schedules and budgets, provide technical guidance and assistance on contracting and construction-related issues, direct design efforts, recommend construction documents for approval, and provide oversight of any follow-on maintenance programs. Optimize performance, cost, and schedule by ensuring project objectives are achieved on schedule and at the lowest cost compatible with user requirements and conduct design reviews with the customer. Ensure integration of all systems, including IT, telephone, security, electrical, HVAC, and plumbing.

Must have:

• Bachelor’s degree in any field; high school, vocational school, or trade school diploma and five (5) years’ work experience in a similar field may be substituted for degree requirement
• Knowledge of managing project design and construction efforts, including schedule, funding, and day-to-day project oversight
• Experience with conducting construction inspections to ensure conformance to design specifications and building codes and generating reports

Nice to have:

• Understanding of security disciplines and security principles, concepts, policy, and regulations
• DOD / VA / DHS experience
• Top Secret Clearance
