Neil Snyder Bio
Neil Snyder is the President of Veterans Engineering (VE), a Maryland-based company dedicated to aiding Federal agencies and commercial entities in pursuing Emerging Technologies, Cloud Computing, Enterprise Technology Strategy, Digital Transformation, Operational Excellence, and Professional Services. VE is a certified Service-Disabled Veteran-Owned Small Business (SDVOSB).
At VE, Mr. Snyder is responsible for the overall strategic direction and management of all aspects of the organization. He supplements his general management responsibilities with direct contributions to ongoing project clients. Notably, he served as a software architect for the Idaho DMV Modernization program, focusing on data security and application portability. He has also performed enterprise-wide application security audits and advised clients on implementing the NIST Cybersecurity Framework.
Before forming VE, Mr. Snyder was co-founder and President of Mantra Communications, a software-based product company specializing in the telecommunications industry. Mantra’s technology was acquired by the Reliance Group of India and integrated into the Reliance Communications product portfolio. Prior to Mantra, he served as the Director of Product Marketing for Hughes Network Systems (HNS), contributing to the development of DirecTV and HughesNet satellite services. He has also held various general management positions at Plantronics/Frederick Electronics, a manufacturer of telecommunications equipment.
Mr. Snyder is a retired Marine Corps officer specializing in aviation Fire Control. He maintained weapons delivery electronics on the A6-E Intruder attack aircraft. He also served as an instructor at the AVI-C7 advanced electronics course in Millington, TN, and as the Scheduling Officer for The Basic School, Quantico, VA.
Mr. Snyder holds a Bachelor of Science in Industrial Engineering from Southern Illinois University and an Associate in Arts degree from the University of New York. He is also a Project Management Professional (PMP).
Asok Motayed, Vice President/ CFO
Asok Motayed Bio
Asok Motayed is the Vice President and Chief Financial Officer of Veterans Engineering (VE), a Maryland-based company dedicated to aiding Federal agencies and commercial entities in pursuing Emerging Technologies, Cloud Computing, Enterprise Technology Strategy, Digital Transformation, Operational Excellence, and Professional Services. VE is a certified Service-Disabled Veteran-Owned Small Business (SDVOSB).
At VE, Mr. Motayed assists the President in the day-to-day management of the corporation. As the Chief Financial Officer, he is responsible for the company’s financial planning, management, accounting, and other administrative functions.
Mr. Motayed has over 35 years of experience managing and operating several consulting and professional services firms. Prior to joining VE, Mr. Motayed also served as the President of CSI Engineering PC, an engineering company specializing in data center design and engineering located in Laurel, MD., and NexGen Systems Corporation, a small business providing energy planning support to US Dept. of Energy. From 1979 to 2000, he was the President of a mid-sized consulting engineering firm, Sheladia Associate in Rockville, MD, responsible for its overall management, including its strategic planning, business development, and financial management and control functions. Under his stewardship, the firm grew from a 5-person company to a 300+ person leading consulting firm in the Mid-Atlantic region, with offices in multiple states and more than ten countries overseas.
Mr. Motayed holds a Master of Science degree from Rutgers University, NJ, and completed coursework requirements for a Doctor of Science in Operations Research at George Washington University. He is a registered professional engineer in Pennsylvania, Maryland, and New York and has authored over 15 papers in technical and professional journals.
John Cummings Bio
John Cummings is a Vice President of Professional Services at Veterans Engineering (VE). He has demonstrated versatility and adaptability as an executive with strong operational and business development skills. Mr. Cummings has a comprehensive strategic account development and management background within complex organizations.
At VE, Mr. Cummings leads the professional services team, which addresses the challenges faced by the public sector across multiple verticals, including workforce solutions, IT infrastructure, IT & Operations Maintenance, and Healthcare Solutions.
Mr. Cummings has over two decades of leadership experience. His previous roles include serving as President of QualTech Inc. and Vice President of Business Development at CC&T. He also applied his experience from Marriott International by promoting core values, customer service, and communications training in the commercial and federal IT and professional services sectors.
Mr. Cummings is passionate about serving Veterans and has significantly contributed to Veterans Engineering’s mission to employ Veterans. Over the past five years, he has increased the company’s total number of Veteran employees. He emphasizes keeping people (customers and employees) first while embracing continuous change.
Mr. Cummings holds a Bachelor of Arts in Business Administration from the University of Boston.
Wally Potts, Vice President of Solution Delivery
Dr Wally Potts Bio
Dr. Wally Potts serves as the Vice President of Solution Delivery at Veterans Engineering (VE). His expertise includes management consulting, process optimization, AIOps, supply chain management, cloud migrations, organizational change management, and applying commercial principles to federal landscapes.
Before joining VE, Dr. Potts was the CIO at Leidos, overseeing operations for the United States Department of Veterans Affairs. He has held significant positions in both large corporations like Walmart and HP and smaller late-stage startups such as Trinet and ClearData. Highlights of his career include architecting the technical separation of HP infrastructure services during the company’s split into HPI and HPE and leading cloud migrations and cost management initiatives for various companies.
Dr. Potts has served on architecture boards for several Fortune 500 companies and federal agencies. His areas of expertise also include mergers and acquisitions, DevOps, IT optimization, SOX remediation programs, Hybrid Cloud, PCI, application portfolio transitions, agile development practices, managed services, and contract negotiation.
Dr. Potts holds a Doctorate in Organizational Change from Baylor University, focusing on reducing technical debt at the Department of Veterans Affairs. He also has an MBA from the University of Arkansas, Walton School of Business, and a Bachelor of Science in Information Systems from Brigham Young University Marriott School of Business. Additionally, he is a Project Management Professional (PMP) and Certified Scrum Professional (CSP) and has completed Lean Six Sigma Black Belt training.
