Serving Veterans During the Covid-19 Pandemic

Challenge: Ensure that veterans receive uninterrupted care during the COVID-19 pandemic.

Solution: Veterans Engineering supports the Department of Veterans Affairs’ Enterprise Cloud Solutions Office (ECSO) to leverage cloud technology and to bring new services to veterans faster by increasing flexibility – two crucial factors in the VA’s coronavirus response. The ECSO’s critical cloud infrastructure and established processes, which the Veterans Engineering team was instrumental in developing, enabled the VA to rapidly shift to meet the demands of COVID-19.

Client Impact: The ability to innovate faster allows the Office of Information and Technology (OIT) to deliver services to veterans more quickly. By meeting increased telehealth demand, improving connectivity with patients and staff, and enabling a rapid shift to telework, the VA has been able to continue to provide care to veterans throughout the pandemic.
