Veterans Engineering has supported healthcare since the company’s inception. When we say, “from the bricks to the cloud,” we have the past performance to prove it. We have designed a wide variety of projects, including data centers, community living centers, electrical systems, and fire protection systems. Veterans Engineering has been on-site at over one-third of the Veterans Affairs facilities improving clinical processes, and today we support the migration of critical clinical applications to the cloud. Our staff includes registered nurses, clinical informaticists, human factors engineers, and healthcare professionals dedicated to making a difference.
Health informatics is an integral component of Veterans Engineering’s work in healthcare. Whether supporting Veterans Affairs’ current electronic health records system (Veterans Health Information Systems and Technology Architecture, or VistA) or assisting in the VA’s Electronic Health Record Modernization (EHRM) rollout, our informatics professionals draw on years of experience. The Veterans Engineering team supported VA staff in creating the Health Informatics Community of Practice SharePoint site as a place for VA informaticists to come together and share.
Healthcare Change Management
Veterans Engineering believes that change management is a key component of any project or implementation, whether you are changing one thing or hundreds. It is an essential tool that provides structure, processes, and guardrails to support the people side of change. Change management increases engagement, overcomes resistance, and improves return on investment.
Perhaps you have a new healthcare technology that you need a particular team to adopt, or you are managing a complicated deployment that calls for everybody’s buy-in. Either way, Veterans Engineering is on hand to help shift people’s beliefs and behaviors and to make sure the change sticks. Programs with excellent change management strategies are more likely to meet or exceed their goals.
Change should happen with people, not to them. Veterans Engineering utilizes the ADKAR® (Awareness, Desire, Knowledge, Ability, and Reinforcement) methodology, along with communication, SharePoint design, training design and instruction, and traditional Prosci change management techniques.
