Developing Tools for Providers to Improve Patient Care

Challenge: Collapse silos to improve transparency among the health informatics workforce at the Veterans Health Administration (VHA) and to support work efforts, clinical practice workflow needs, and expanded learning opportunities.

Solution: Veterans Engineering supported the creation of the Health Informatics Community of Practice (HI CoP), which included a new website, messaging program, integrated master schedule (IMS) calendar, discussions and bulletins, and ongoing metrics production and reports.

Client Impact: Enhanced communication for the VHA health informatics workforce, including an IMS calendar in service and a formal messaging system that distributes information to several thousand individuals through multiple mail groups.
